No visitors were harmed in this unforgettable T-rex encounter!
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) introduced a permanent installation merging technology and everyone's favourite: T-rex. This permanent installation gives visitors a chance to take a selfie with the ROM's infamous T-rex and share it to an in-gallery display and to the world.
Strike a pose with T-rex
The objective was to create a captivating interactive experience that would leave a lasting impression and generate a memorable moment worth sharing. The installation offered more than an opportunity to learn about the T-rex, but to interact with it in a way that would remain unforgettable. Its purpose was to create a surprising encounter and make it more accessible and engaging to all.
Game engine in-gallery
The use of the Unity game engine in combination with custom-fabricated stands housing Microsoft Surface tablets helped to bring the vision to life. Visitors could simply strike a pose and snap a picture, capturing themselves alongside the iconic dinosaur. An easy-to-use interface was designed to enable photo sharing, complete with pre-filled hashtags, encouraging visitors to extend their experience to social media amplifying the exhibit's reach.
